Posen Board of Trustees approve warrants

The Posen Village President and Board of Trustees met Dec. 13 to approve warrants.

Here are the meeting's minutes, as provided by the board:

VILLAGE OF POSEN

MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE VILLAGE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF POSEN HELD TUESDAY, DECEMBER 13, 2016 AT 6:30 P.M. IN THE POSEN MUNICIPAL BUILDING

CALL TO ORDER

President Donald W. Schupek called the Regular Meeting to order for Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at 6:30 P.M. in the Posen Municipal Building, 2440 W. Walter Zimny Drive, Posen, Illinois 60469.

ROLL CALL

Upon the Call of the Roll by Clerk Grabowski, President Schupek, Trustees Torres, Schnering, Niemeyer, Casillas, Klapkowski and Hulsey were present. Also in attendance were Village Attorney Peter Murphy, Police Chief Doug Hoglund, Fire Chief Kevin Szewczyk, Public Works Director Jason Rhein, Bookkeeper Angelito Alzona and Treasurer Linda Arvia.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

President Schupek led the Village Board and attending public in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance.

RECORD OF THE PROCEEDINGS

President Schupek called for a motion to approve the Minutes of the Regular Meeting held Tuesday, November 22nd, 2016 as written. Trustee Torres moved, seconded by Trustee Klapkowski. Trustees Torres, Schnering, Niemeyer, Casillas and Klapkowski Voted Aye. Trustee Hulsey abstained. Motion was approved.

FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION – Chairman D. J. Schnering

Trustee Schnering moved, seconded by Trustee Torres to approve Warrant #15-16/17. All Trustees Voted Aye: motion was approved.

Trustee Schnering gave the following schedule for the Administration Office for the Christmas Day and New Year’s Day Holiday.

The Village Offices will close Friday, December 23rd, 2016 at 12:00 noon, including Monday, December 26th, 2016.

Office Hours will resume at 9:00 A.M., Tuesday, December 27th, 2016.

The Village Offices will close Friday, December 30th, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. including Monday, January 2nd, 2017.

Office Hours will resume at 9:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 3rd, 2017.

COMMUNITY HEALTH & DEVELOPMENT – Chairman A.C. Hulsey

Trustee Hulsey gave the following Code Enforcement Department Report:

Month: November

Court Date: November 28, 2016

Below is a summary of the activities of the Code Officers:

31 Warning Letters 20 Violations Written 2 Compliances 0 30- Day Extension 0 Cases Dismissed

Prepaid fines – 8 - $425.00 Fines Levied – 16 - $5,400.00

PUBLIC WORKS – Chairman J.S. Casillas

Trustee Casillas gave the following Public Works Monthly Report for November, 2016:

Equipment Repair – Daily Vehicle Maintenance

Main Breaks – 14413 Mckinley

Service Repair – 14522 Short

Vehicle Maintenance – getting trucks ready for snow. Meter Reading – 3 days Meter Rereads – 2 days

Daily work orders – Village Hall

Water Bills are due December 22, 2016 by 5:00 P.M.

FIRE – Chairman – G. Guel-Torres

Trustee Torres had no report.

Trustee Torres announced that the Children’s Christmas Ornament making class Saturday, December 17th, 2016 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 noon, at the Community Center.

POLICE –Chairman R. Klapkowski

Trustee Klapkowski gave the following Police Department Monthly Report for November, 2016:

Parking Citations – 204 Moving Citations – 511 Calls Answered – 1946 Traffic Stops – 277 Felonies – 7 Misdemeanors – 85 Warrants – 11 Business Checks – 788 MO Ordinance Tickets – 62 Total Vehicles Towed & Impounded – 71

FEES COLLECTED Report Copy Fees - $105.00 Tow Release Fees - $24,100.00 MO Ordinance Fines - $1,750.00

PARKING TICKET COLLECTION Police Department - $4,656.67 Court Parking Tickets - $2,450.00 Collections-Parking & MO Ordinance Tickets - $1,005.20 Fines Received from Markham Court - $2,841.94

TOTAL MONEY COLLECTED - $36,908.81

Trustee Klapkowski made the following announcement:

Officer Gutierrez attended “Breath Analysis For Alcohol Training:, (16 Hours) Training was held at the Northbrook police department on November 14th and 15th, 2016.

RECREATION – Chairman D. Niemeyer

Trustee Niemeyer had no report.

EXECUTIVE A SESSION

OTHER

Diane Pochinskas’ husband passed away this afternoon. No information was available at this time. Diane is the secretary in the Fire Department.
