Congratulating City Clerk Nyota T. Figgs on being named 2016 Rookie of the Year by the Municipal Clerks of Illinois and obtaining CMC certification.

RE: Investment Report for the Quarter Ended December 2016.

In the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, Eastern Division Case No. 16 CV 11559, Carl Hamilton, Plaintiff v. Calumet City Police Officers. (Upon receipt of lawsuit, it was forwarded to the City Attorney)

In the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, Summons in a Civil Case No. 16- CV 11536, Marquise Wright v. Calumet City, Illinois. George Barich, Freddie Summers, and Mike Rodriquez. (Upon receipt of lawsuit, it was forwarded to the City Attorney)

RE: Changes channel line-up.

Various Action Items - consideration of and possible action:

1. Direct the Board of Police & Fire Commissioners to begin the hiring

process for one (1) police officer to replace Officer Henderson upon

his resignation on 1/2/17.

2. Accept the Zoning Board of Appeals Fact and Recommendations from

the zoning hearing held on 1/19/17 for sign variance at the property 1498 Torrence Avenue; direct the City Attorney to prepare an ordinance for the next council meeting.

Resolution commending School District #157, School Board Member Tanya Reed, School Teachers Ms. Wiechek, Ms. Coffie, their students and Officer Bryant for their kindness and efforts in conducting a Holiday Food Drive the needy in Calumet City.

Resolution commending Sharon Carney for her generosity and kindness in providing food and clothing for the needy and homeless on Thanksgiving.

Resolution for Maintenance of Streets and Highways by Municipality Under the Illinois Highway Code (appropriating $796,282.20 of MFT Funds for Traffic Signal Maintenance, Street Light Maintenance, Emergency Street Repair, Rock Salt, Street Alley Patching, Sidewalk & Concrete Repair & Street Resurfacing)

Resolution amending (Res. #11-53) to add additional parcel 507-155th Street; and authorizing the Clerk and/or Corporation Counsel to execute all documentation necessary to effectuate said conveyance of surplus real estate.
