Chicago Ridge ranked 228th in state in lottery ticket sales

The village of Chicago Ridge had the 228th highest lottery ticket net sales statewide per capita for the month of April 2016 -- down 39 spots from its March ranking.

The per capita lottery ticket sales in Chicago Ridge was $25.24 per person.

Based on monthly sales records obtained by the South Cook News, Chicago Ridge generated $362,734.50 in net sales from its eight lottery retailers in April 2016, compared to $336,334.50 in April 2015.


The village of Chicago Ridge is in Cook County, and has a population of 14,373, according to 2010 census data. Neighboring municipalities are Worth, Alsip, Bridgeview, Oak Lawn, Palos Hills and Hickory Hills.

Average sales for municipalities in the region in April 2016 was $42,434.13.

Chicago Ridge's top lottery retailer is 7-Eleven #30100 located at 10658 S Ridgeland Ave, Chicago Ridge, IL 60415.

7-Eleven #30100 generated 40 percent of Chicago Ridge's April 2016 lottery ticket sales and 1 percent of Cook County's sales that month, which was $131,460,961.

A close look at sales by city shows that the top five cities with the highest lottery revenue per capita in Cook County in 2015 were Forest View, McCook, Merrionette Park, Calumet Park and Hodgkins.

Statewide, the top five cities with the highest lottery revenue per capita were Forest View, Burnt Prairie, McCook, Mapleton and Merrionette Park.

The top five cities in the state generated $5,496,719 in net sales -- 1 percent of the state's 2015 net sales amounting to $2,793,271,709.50.
