We reviewed and discussed the items on this year’s budget in preparation for the new 2018-2019 Budget.

We have collected $3060.00 with 51 members from the membership drive that was sent out after the Concert in the Park.

In preparation for Palos Reads, Katherine Sofianos is sending out letters requesting support of the event. The mayors of Palos Park, Palos Heights, and Palos Hills will receive complimentary copies of this year’s selection. MVCC has been contacted to sell books at the event. This year there will be a dinner prior to the presentation at Palos Country Club. Palos Country Club will handle reservations. The Libraries have scheduled events related to Palos Reads so another post card will be sent out to members with this information.

Scholarship winner Amer Husan will perform a recital on Saturday, August 11 at 4:00 p.m. at Beverly’s home. Invitations have been extended to Bill O’Brian, Cynthia Weglarz, Mayor Mahoney, Paul Vanderbilt, Mr. and Mrs. Weigel.

This year’s scholarship raffle collected $2580. The scholarship winners were very impressive in talent and potential.

We received a thank you from the Village of Palos Park for our contribution to and participation in this year’s Concert in the Park.

The Palos Heights Woman’s Club again acknowledged Palos Fine Arts as an organization that makes a difference in our community and noted our commitment and service to the community. They supported our efforts with a $100 gift.

The Palos Park Library sent a thank you for the gift of the Palos print and the sun dial.

The fall Foreign Film is scheduled for October 10th at the Palos Heights Library. Possible film choices are being reviewed.
