City of Blue Island Community Development Committee will meet on Wednesday, June 12.

1. Discussion regarding the extension of the Business Development Grant Application for The Fraternal Order of Eagles at 2427 Grove Street (Weather Related – Cold Winter)

2. Discussion regarding the review of five (5) Peddlers/Solicitors License Applications for Power Home Remodeling, which is located at 2500 W. Bradley Place in Chicago (The Chicago company wants to send people to peddle business in Blue Island)

3. Discussion regarding the proposed application denial of the Business Development Grant Program for Molino’s Bakery (Jonathan Gorajski) at 13030 Western Avenue (Temporary Signs are not coved in program; project already took place)

4. Discussion regarding the location of a proposed permanent dumpster enclosure corral for State Farm at 12301 Western Avenue (Renato Delgadillo owns the property and is a State Farm Agent)

5. Discussion regarding the litter on the parkway area for Thornton’s at 2320 W. 127th Street (Litter; Property Maintenance)

6. Discussion regarding the status of the abandoned former Citgo Gas Station on 12548 Western Avenue (Decrepit State; Property Maintenance)

7. Discussion regarding the proposed Fire Museum directly across the street from the existing Blue Island Fire Station (Planning and Building; Long Term Planning)

8. Discussion regarding the existing MWRD soccer field within the city’s boundary (Location; Public Facility)

9. Discussion regarding the proposed day care center with an associated stand-alone parking lot for Alisha Battle for 12128 Western Avenue (Special Use and ZBA review of parking lot)

10. Discussion regarding the Business Development Grant Program, especially for façade and exterior improvements, for a possible reimbursement of 75% of the total project, which is directly funded by the city (Grant Program – Possible Tweaking)

11.Discussion regarding the inconsistencies in the enforcement in façade and signage code violations within the city (Enforcement Questions)

12.Community Development Committee Walk and Talk exercise with the existing Businesses on Western Avenue (Possible date and time selection)

13.Review of Building Department Monthly Reports (April/May); Marketing Report; and Sign Enforcement Spreadsheet
