City of Burbank City Council met May 27.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

The meeting was called to order at 7 :30 PM by Mayor Dan M. Foy in the Council Chambers at 6530 West 796 Street Burbank, IL

Mayor Foy requested a roll call which indicated the following members present: Alderwoman Barb Gagle, Alderman Robert Contreras (via Zoom), Alderwoman Sheri Gustafson (via Zoom),

Alderman Claude Haerr, Alderman John Pacella Alderman Mitchell Piznarski, Alderman Jason Pyle (via Zoom),Mayor Dan M. Foy, Clerk Barry J. Szymczak, Treasurer Dean Viverito (via Zoom) and City Attorney Vince Cainkar (via Zoom).

Mayor Foy then asked all to rise for the Pledge of Allegiance.

Mayor Foy asked for a motion to approve the minutes of May 13,2020. The motion was made by Alderman Pacella and seconded by Alderman Haerr with unanimous approval by voice vote and so declared by the Chair.

Mayor Foy then asked for a motion to approve the current list of bills. The motion was made by Alderman Contreras and seconded by Alderman Haerr. A roll call indicated 7 Ayes and 0 Nays.

Voting Aye: Alderwoman Gagle, Alderman Contreras, Alderwoman Gustafson, Alderman Haerr, Alderman Pacella, Alderman Piznarski and Alderman Pyle.

Treasurer Viverito reported that the City is holding its own and is financially stable during the pandemic crisis.

Clerk Szymczak attended a bid opening on Tuesday May 26s at 10:00 AM in reference to the 2020 I 78th Street Rehabilitation Project. The following companies submitted bids:

G & M CementConstruction $2,465,973.40

Lindahl Brothers $2,252,521.90

M & J Paving $2,435,249.00

Brothers Asphalt Paving $2,554,920.50

A Lamp Concrete Contractors $2,479,737.30

Orange Crush $2,420,558.90

Schroeder Asphalt Services $2,589,921.80

Triggi Construction $2,499,168.90

Alderman Mitch Piznarski made a motion seconded by Alderwoman Gagle to award Lindahl Brothers as low bidder for the 2020 / 78th Street Rehabilitation Project in the amount of $2,252,521.90. A roll call indicated 7 Ayes and 0 Nays. Voting Aye: Alderwoman Gagle, Alderman Contreras, Alderwoman Gustafson, Alderman Haerr, Alderman Pacell4 Alderman Piznarski and Alderman Pyle.

Alderman Contreras made a motion seconded by Alderwoman Gagle to ask the City Attorney to prepare an ordinance for Petition #20-03-l Rosetta Place, LLC 7958 State Road & 7940 South Luna Burbank, IL. requesting a special use to convert existing residential property into parking for a hotel.

A roll call indicated 7 Ayes and 0 Nays. Voting Aye: Alderwoman Gagle. Alderman Contreras, Alderwoman Gustafson, Alderman Haerr, Alderman Pacella, Alderman Piznarski and Alderman Pyle.

Alderman Contreras then made a motion seconded by Alderwoman Gagle to ask the City Attorney to prepare an ordinance for Petition#20-03-2 Berman-LaPetina Enterprises, LLC. 8320 South Cicero Ave. Burbank, ll. requesting a special use to convert the existing building into a climate controlled self-storage facility. A roll call indicated 7 Ayes and 0 Nays. Voting Aye: Alderwoman Gagle, Alderman Contreras, Alderwoman Gustafson. Alderman Haerr, Alderman Pacella" Alderman Piznarski and Alderman Pyle.

Alderman Contreras then made a motion seconded by Alderman Haerr to ask the City Attorney to prepare an ordinance for Petition #20-04-l Ruben Trejo 7830 South Latrobe Burbank, Il. requesting a variation for a 6' privacy fence on front yard side set back with no delay in the start of construction. A roll call indicated 7 Ayes and 0 Nays. Voting Aye: Alderwoman Gagle, Alderman Contreras, Alderwoman Gustafson, Alderman Haerr, Alderman Pacella, Alderman Piznarski and Alderman Pyle.

Chief Gilgenberg reported that PPE supplies are more than adequate at the present time through donations from Cook County and Advocate Christ Hospital and that he is in constant communication with the City Attorney in reference to any workman's compensation issues which would need to be addressed during the pandemic. The Chief emphasized that all safety measures are in place since the crisis began.

Mayor Foy stated that the closing on the upcoming restaurant property at 79th & Lavergne will take place on Thursday May 28th. The vacant bank building will be demolished immediately. Mayor Foy thanked Attorney Vince Cainkar for his efforts in the project.

There being no further business, the Chair asked for a motion to adjourn. The motion was made by Alderman Haerr and seconded by Alderman Contreras with unanimous voice approval and so declared by the Chair.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:45 P.M.
