Alsip, Hazelgreen, Oak Lawn School District #126 Board of Education met July 29.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

CALL TO ORDER 

The meeting was called to order at 6:00p.m.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE 

The Board stood for the Pledge of Allegiance.

ROLL CALL 

Secretary Pierce called the roll.

Present:               Marigrace Sinnott-Snooks, President 

Joe Lachica, Vice President 

Lori Ann Pierce, Secretary 

Kim Powers 

Harry Tannehill 

Donna Waldrom 

Therese Zaker

Also Present:      Craig Gwaltney, Superintendent 

Lori Connolly, Director of Teaching and Learning 

Robert Condon, Director Special Education 

Claudia Peralta, Bilingual Director

STAFF/STUDENT/AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION 

Craig Gwaltney, Lori Connolly and District 126 Administrators addressed and answered questions that were submitted by parents. They also responded to the questions from the School Board Members in regards to the return to school plans. Two different plans were presented to the Board and the virtual audience by Lori Connolly.

APPROVAL 

Harry Tannehill moved, seconded by Kim Powers, “To approve the hybrid/remote learning beginning on the first day of school." Upon roll call, the vote was as follows: Aye: Tannehill, Powers. Nay: Zaker, Pierce, Waldrom, LaChica, Sinnott-Snooks. The motion did not pass 2-5.

Therese Zaker moved, seconded by Donna Waldrom , “To approve the remote learning beginning on the first day of school through October 5, 2020." Upon roll call, the vote was as follows: Aye: Zaker, Pierce, Waldrom, LaChica, Sinnott-Snooks. Nay: Tannehill, Powers. The motion passed 5-2.

ADJOURNMENT 

Lori Pierce moved, seconded by Kim Powers, "To adjourn the meeting". Upon roll call, the vote as follows: Aye: Sinnott-Snooks, Tannehill, Pierce, Powers, Zaker, Waldrom, LaChica. Nay: None. The motion carried 7-0 at 7:55p.m.
