Charles Robert “Chuck” Montgomery, a Vietnam Veteran of the US Air Force and retired Tinley Park Police Commander, passed away at the age of 77 on May 2, 2025. He is survived by his wife Donna, children Jean (Bill) Murray and Brian (Sharon) Montgomery, grandchildren, and great-grandchild.
Montgomery, in addition to his service in law enforcement, shared his expertise as a part-time instructor at Moraine Valley College and as Deputy Director of NEMERT for police training. With a distinguished career, including his presidency of the Illinois Chapter of the FBI National Academy, he was dedicated to the profession.
A visitation will be held on May 7, 2025, at Colonial Chapel in Orland Park, IL, and at Orland Park Christian Reformed Church on May 8, 2025, followed by interment with Military Honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
Memorial donations to the Parkinson’s Foundation and Lightways Hospice are encouraged in memory of Chuck Montgomery. He will be remembered for his service, leadership, and commitment.
