City of Palos Hills City Council met March 5

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

1) CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Bennett called the City Council Meeting to order at 6:58p.m.

2) PLEDGE TO THE FLAG: Mayor Bennett led everyone in the Pledge to the Flag.

3) ROLL CALL: Upon roll call the following Aldermen responded:

PRESENT: Price, Brachman, Lebarre, Donahue, Kleefisch, Frankowicz, Abed, Krasowski

ABSENT: O’Connell, Stratton

4) QUORUM: Mayor Bennett declared a quorum was present.

5) READING OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES:

Ald. Kleefisch MOVED to approve the City Council Meeting Minutes dated, February 19, 2026 as presented. SECONDED by Ald. Price. Upon roll call the following Ald. voted:

AYE: Brachman, Lebarre, Donahue, Kleefisch, Frankowicz, Abed, Krasowski, Price

NAY: None

ABSENT: O’Connell, Stratton MOTION CARRIED

6) CITIZENS PETITION: None this evening.

7) CITIZENS HEARING:

Mayor Bennett, the meeting is open to the public for any comments or questions.

There were no comments or questions from the public; the public portion of the meeting was closed.

8) REPORTS & COMMUNICATIONS FROM MAYOR AND OTHER CITY OFFICIALS:

9) PRESENTATION OF PETITIONS, COMMUNICATIONS, RESOLUTIONS, AND ORDINANCES BY ALDERMEN:

A. BUILDING & LICENSING:

Ald. Abed presented and read the monthly building report for the month of February 2026: total permits issued 43; total permit fees $13,456.50, total security deposits received $0; total security deposits refunded $0.

Ald. Abed MOVED to approve an equal lot split at 10237 S. 86th Court. SECONDED by Ald. Price. Upon roll call the following Ald. voted:

AYE: Lebarre, Donahue, Kleefisch, Frankowicz, Abed, Krasowski, Price, Brachman

NAY: None

ABSENT: O’Connell, Stratton MOTION CARRIED

B. CITY ADMINISTRATION:

In the absence of Ald. Stratton there was no report this evening.

C. COMMUNITY RESOURCES/PARKS:

Ald. Price had no report this evening.

D. ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT:

In the absence of Ald. O’Connell there was no report this evening.

E. FINANCE:

Ald. Lebarre MOVED to authorize the expenditure of a Vendor Warrant dated, March 5, 2026 in the amount of $354,265.83. SECONDED by Ald. Kleefisch. Upon roll call the following Ald. voted:

AYE: Donahue, Kleefisch, Frankowicz, Abed, Krasowski, Price, Brachman, Lebarre

NAY: None

ABSENT: O’Connell, Stratton MOTION CARRIED

Ald. Lebarre announced that the First Responders dinner from the Lions Club is on March 18th.

F. LEGISLATION & ORDINANCES:

Ald. Frankowicz had no report this evening.

G. GOLF:

Ald. Donahue had no report this evening.

H. PLANNING & ZONING:

Ald. Krasowski had no report this evening.

I. PUBLIC SAFETY:

Upon request of Ald. Kleefisch, Resolution number 704 was assigned to A Parade Resolution.

After the reading of Resolution number 704, Ald. Kleefisch MOVED for ADOPTION of same.

SECONDED by Ald. Donahue. Upon roll call the following Ald. voted:

AYE: Kleefisch, Frankowicz, Abed, Krasowski, Price, Brachman, Lebarre, Donahnue

NAY: None

ABSENT: O’Connell, Stratton MOTION CARRIED

Ald. Kleefisch presented and read the Palos Hills Police Department Activity Report for the month of February 2026 as follows: 198 traffic tickets were issued, 67 parking tickets, 12 misdemeanor complaints and 3 felony complaints, there was 1 aggravated assault, 3 simple assaults, 2 intimidations, there were 2 larcenies, there was 1 motor vehicle theft, there were 5 fraud cases, there were 5 destruction/damage/vandalism of property, there was 1 weapons law violation, there were 2 disorderly conducts, there were 4 driving under the influence, and 5 all other offenses, and our CID Division handled a total of 30 cases.

Ald. Kleefisch stated that he and Ald. Price requested traffic detail to be conducted in their ward where a lot of speeding takes place. The traffic detail was conducted on February 23rd and 24th, focusing on the areas of Michael Drive, Terry Drive, and 105th Street; there were a total of 34 citations issued through those details, 13 of those were for illegal use of cellphones, 9 were speeding citations, and 4 were for disobeying a stop sign.

Ald. Kleefisch reported that a check was received from Consolidated High School District 230 in the amount of $15,001.43, and a check from Illinois Law Enforcement Alarm Systems in the amount of $464.00.

J. PUBLIC WORKS/SEWER & WATER:

Ald. Brachman had no report this evening.

10) REPORTS OF SPECIAL COMMITTEES: None this evening.

11) UNFINISHED BUSINESS: None this evening.

12) MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS: None this evening.

13) ADJORNMENT:

No further business, Mayor Bennett entertained a motion to adjourn. SO MOVED by Ald. Price.

SECONDED by Ald. Kleefisch. By voice vote, all voted AYE.

The Meeting adjourned at 7:07p.m.
