Commissioner Sean Morrison has recently used his social media platform to comment on political and economic developments in Illinois. Through a series of posts between March 31 and April 1, 2026, Morrison addressed issues ranging from grassroots movements to the departure of major corporations from the state.
On March 31, Morrison made a pointed remark regarding grassroots activism, stating “Yeah….. but but but, it’s grass roots https://t.co/wlpn2JDw4g”.
In another post published early on April 1, he encouraged his followers to review a specific report, writing “Everyone should take 90 seconds and read this report facts matter https://t.co/IiUQ77cm3T”.
Later that day, Morrison commented on the exit of several major companies from Illinois. He wrote: “The leftists democrats scoffed an taunted, daring them to leave, so… they did here are just a few off the top of my head… Ken Griffin and Citadel, Boeing , Caterpillar, Tyson foods ,Guggenheim partners, TTX , Morton salt, and several more we need to mention, etc. etc. etc. https://t.co/9jngISGRoO”.
These comments reflect ongoing concerns about the business climate in Illinois. Over recent years, several large companies—including Citadel and Boeing—have announced plans to relocate their headquarters or significant operations out of Illinois due to factors such as high taxes and regulatory burdens.
Morrison is a Cook County Commissioner known for his public commentary on state and local governance issues.
