Commissioner Sean Morrison posted a series of messages on his social media account addressing the observance of Good Friday and its significance within the Catholic Church.

On April 3, 2026, Morrison extended greetings to fellow Catholics, writing, “All my Catholic brothers and sister, have a blessed Good Friday”. Later that day, he addressed misconceptions about Catholic practices related to Good Friday. He stated, “In your attempt to sow devision, you fail to understand that; in the Catholic apostolic Church, there is only one day of the year, in which holy Mass is not celebrated, and that is on Good Friday! When this day is set aside to reflect on Christ, his sacrifice and passion.”

The following morning on April 4, Morrison posted another message: “Who needs to hear this”.

Good Friday holds particular importance for Catholics as it commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. According to tradition and liturgical practice in the Roman Catholic Church, Holy Mass is not celebrated on this day; instead, special services are held for reflection and remembrance. This practice underscores the solemnity with which Catholics observe Good Friday each year.
