Gail L. Bell passed away on July 28 at the age of 84. Born on December 10, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Ree and the late Irene Panichi, survived by her husband, Taylor H.A. Bell. Growing up in south suburban Blue Island, Gail cherished memories of activities with childhood friend Martha Fentem at Memorial Park. She was fond of socializing at Chuck Cavallini’s Chuck Wagon in Midlothian. After serving as a secretary at Booz Allen Hamilton in Chicago and AT&T in New York City, she returned to Chicago to work at Field Enterprises. There, she met her future husband Taylor, and they married in 1976. Gail later became an executive secretary for venture capitalist Peter W. Smith. She enjoyed drawing, reading, and traveling, particularly with her husband, visiting numerous destinations together. Gail retired in 2005. Diagnosed with dementia in 2024, she resided at Artis Senior Living of Lakeview before her passing. Private services were held in her honor.
