John J. Moriarty, 85, of Tinley Park, passed away on Monday, July 14th, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Ellen Moriarty for 64 beautiful years. John was a loving father to Mike Moriarty, Colleen Moriarty (John Boyce), the late John, Maureen Lynn (Kevin), and Brian Moriarty. He was a proud papa to many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. John was a devoted brother to several siblings and a kind uncle to many nieces and nephews.

John took pride in his service within the Chicago Fire Department as a proud retiree and dedicated member of Local 2. His courage, integrity, and compassion were evident in his work with the city. John was also a proud member of the Brotherhood of the Barrel and The Gaelic Fire Brigade. As a veteran of the United States Army, he exhibited a deep commitment to protecting others, leaving a lasting legacy of honor and service both on the job and in his community.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, July 18, from 10:00 a.m. until the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen Deacon and Martyr Catholic Church in Tinley Park. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre in Alsip.
