Joe A. Herrmann, a beloved science and math teacher who shared his knowledge at various schools throughout his career, passed away at the age of 52 on June 25, 2025. He made a positive impact at Leo Catholic High School, St. Nicholas of Tolentine, Excel Academy of Englewood, and Doolittle Elementary.

He is survived by his cherished wife, Shirley A. (Sitterly), and remembered as the devoted son of the late Richard and Francine (Bartkus). Joe was a loving father to Jacob, Brooklynn Hope (Matthew Shannon), Alexandria, and Nathaniel Salvato. He enjoyed time with his grandchildren, especially Matthew D. Shannon and Baby Shannon. Joe was the brother of the late Deborah Bonnes and Steve Seper, and a beloved brother-in-law to Michael (Tammy), Donald A. Jr. (Amy), John Sitterly, and Candice (Andrew) Gurley. He will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a chapel service at 7:00 p.m. at Curley Funeral Home, located at 6116 W. 111th St., Chicago Ridge, 60415. Interment will be private.
