Kathleen A. Fish, 73, known for her dedication to family and career in education, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Hospice Riley Home in Munster, Indiana. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Steven “Mike” Fish, children Matthew and Eric Fish, and grandchildren Abby, Brooke, Hannah, Barnes, Vivienne, and Henry. Kathleen will also be remembered fondly by her sisters, brothers, sisters-in-law, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, Kathleen graduated from Fenger High School in 1969 and later obtained a degree in teaching from Western Illinois University, followed by a master’s in education from St. Xavier University. She dedicated 24 years to School District 158 (Memorial Jr. High) as a PE teacher, volleyball and track coach.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation on Sunday, May 18, at Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home in Lansing, Illinois. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 19, starting with closing prayers at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Jesus Shepherd Of Souls (Our Lady Of Knock Church) in Calumet City, Illinois. Kathleen will be laid to rest at Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Glenwood, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to LARC Industries in Lansing, Illinois. Kathleen will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
