Margaret Gerlich, known affectionately as “Peggy,” passed away peacefully on May 16, 2025, at the age of 93, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 21, 1931, in Chicago to Walter and Isabelle McGraw, she epitomized faith, creativity, and unwavering devotion to family. Margaret was the beloved wife of the late Thomas Gerlich and a dedicated mother to seven children. She was a source of warmth, tradition, and unconditional love in her home and treasured her role as a grandmother to 12, great-grandmother to 13, and great-great-grandmother to one. Margaret’s legacy of kindness and care lives on through her family. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and numerous family and friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Vandenberg Funeral Home in Tinley Park, with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Church and burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Alsip. Margaret Gerlich will be remembered for her strength, generosity, and everlasting love for her family.
