In total, residents paid just under $2.3 million in sales taxes during that month.

Tinley Park ranked 35th in the Prairie State the month before, with just over $1.9 million spent in sales taxes.

The largest share of sales taxes paid by Tinley Park residents in April came from the Municipal Sales Tax.

In Illinois, municipal sales taxes, usually set at 1%, are added to the state sales tax of 5% and a county tax of 0.25%, resulting in a combined state tax rate of 6.25%.
