Palos Park is seeking volunteers for their resident committees, boards and commissions.
The open positions will be filled by mayoral appointment and are approved by the Village Council. Residents of Palos Park are encouraged to serve on the boards to better assist their community and provide cultured advice to the council.
The Plan Commission consists of seven members who serve a total of five years on the job. Their primary responsibilities will revolve around the Building and Housing code — petitions for rezoning, subdivision approval, etc. The commission also receives special projects from the mayor.
The Zoning Board of Appeals is a five-year term that requires the examining of appeals and review of any order, requirement, decision or determination made by the building commissioner.
Several other positions, which vary in responsibilities, term length and required skills, are also needed. For all positions, applicants must be a Palos Park resident, at least 18 years old and have a genuine interest in the position at hand.
Interested parties are asked to forward a letter of interest that includes an overview of qualifications and a resume to Mayor John Mahoney, or via email to info@palospark.org.
