The Tinley Park board has appointed Patrick Hoban as its new economic development manager.
The announcement was made on Jan. 16 during the board’s meeting at Village Hall. Hoban will begin his new position in February.
The village was originally looking for someone to fill the community development director position. The board leashed a nationwide search and received almost 100 applicants. Even though they did not fill the original position, several candidates were qualified for the economic development manager — which included Hoban.
“Of all the candidates, Patrick best displayed the skills and experience we were looking for in this position,” Tinley Park Mayor Dave Seaman said in a press release. “Patrick will make a great addition to the team, and we all look forward to working with him to ensure Tinley Park continues to attract and retain the very best businesses and developments.”
Hoban currently serves as the EDO with the city of Decatur. Over the past 10 years, he has worked several economic development jobs and hopes to continue that tradition with Tinley Park.
The new position will report to the community development director as part of the recent restructuring of the departments.
