The City of Harvey budget was $52.94 million for its 2015 fiscal year, or $6,320.06 per household.

That's an increase of 28.1 percent from 2012, when the city spent $41.33 million, or $4,934.32 per household.

Harvey has 8,377 households and a population of 25,100.

Since 2001, the City of Harvey budget has grown by 44 percent, from $36.76 million. The city population has fallen 16.3 percent over the same period, from 30,000.

Salaries accounted for 23.5 percent of city spending in 2015. Harvey property taxpayers paid $12.44 million for 142 full-time employees and 30 part-time employees.

In 2001, the city had 242 full-time employees and 36 part-time employees, and spent $10.92 million.
