The calls in Oak Lawn included 169 fires - 99 structure fires, 21 vehicle fires and 40 other fires. The fire department also responded to nine calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.
In all, the department saw $1,188,285 in fire loss - or about $7,031 per fire.
The department also received 628 false calls, including 18 malicious calls and 610 other false calls.
The calls resulted in three civilian fire-related injuries. Additionally, one fire service member was injured in fire-related incidents and three were injured in non fire-related incidents.
The Oak Lawn Firefighters' Pension Fund, which has 74 active employees and 108 retired or inactive employees, was $7,552,236 in debt as of December 2015, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $44,688 for every fire in 2016.
