Hometown FPD responds to 46 fires in 2016

Hometown Fire Protection District responded to 93 calls in 2016, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System obtained by the South Cook News.

The calls in Hometown included 46 fires - 37 structure fires, one vehicle fire and six other fires. The fire department also responded to two calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $247,500 in fire loss - or about $5,380 per fire.

The department also received 47 false calls.
