An Oak Lawn native has been selected for the health and social-service policy group put together by the Gov. Bruce Rauner and Lt. Gov. Evelyn Sanguinetti, according to a press release.
Christopher Kantas, an associate general counsel to the governor, was picked for the team of experts from the government, nonprofit organizations and the private sector, according to the news release. A criminal-justice group also was named. Each group is part of the administration's work to coalesce efforts in analysis and policy formation, the news release said.
In his current role, Kantas works with Medicaid, social services and health care. He is the principal liaison for legal relations for several state departments, including public health, human services, aging, and health care and family services. He also works with the Health Facilities and Services Review Board, the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Commission and the Comprehensive Health Insurance Plan.
