Analysis: Alsip pays $6.80 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Alsip Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 87.2 percent of the $2,739,567 the Alsip Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $6.80 for every $1 from pension members, according to a South Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Alsip contributed $2,388,524 to the fund, which saw a $112,492 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $351,042, or 12.8 percent, in 2016. Another $1 came from other unspecified sources.
