Analysis: Bridgeview pays $5.11 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Bridgeview Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 83.6 percent of the $1,632,570 the Bridgeview Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $5.11 for every $1 from pension members, according to a South Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Bridgeview contributed $1,365,392 to the fund, which saw a $19,690 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $267,127, or 16.4 percent, in 2016. Another $51 came from other unspecified sources.
