Analysis: Chicago Heights pays $5.52 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Chicago Heights Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 84.4 percent of the $2,770,672 the Chicago Heights Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $5.52 for every $1 from pension members, according to a South Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Chicago Heights contributed $2,339,408 to the fund, which saw a $552,539 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $423,699, or 15.3 percent, in 2016. Another $7,565 came from other unspecified sources.
