Analysis: Chicago Heights pays $3.77 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Chicago Heights Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 78.9 percent of the $3,203,965 the Chicago Heights Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $3.77 for every $1 from pension members, according to a South Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Chicago Heights contributed $2,527,866 to the fund, which saw a $970,962 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $669,631, or 20.9 percent, in 2016. Another $6,468 came from other unspecified sources.
