Analysis: Matteson pays $4.19 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Matteson Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 80.6 percent of the $1,345,624 the Matteson Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $4.19 for every $1 from pension members, according to a South Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Matteson contributed $1,085,233 to the fund, which saw a $142,086 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $258,756, or 19.2 percent, in 2016. Another $1,635 came from other unspecified sources.
