Analysis: Matteson pays $3.84 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Matteson Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 79.4 percent of the $1,473,444 the Matteson Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $3.84 for every $1 from pension members, according to a South Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Matteson contributed $1,170,136 to the fund, which saw a $117,968 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $303,962, or 20.6 percent, in 2016.
