Analysis: Midlothian pays $3.31 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Midlothian Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 76.6 percent of the $467,050 the Midlothian Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $3.31 for every $1 from pension members, according to a South Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Midlothian contributed $357,591 to the fund, which saw a $98,637 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $107,917, or 23.1 percent, in 2016. Another $1,542 came from other unspecified sources.
