Analysis: Oak Lawn pays $4.14 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Oak Lawn Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 80.3 percent of the $3,670,331 the Oak Lawn Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $4.14 for every $1 from pension members, according to a South Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Oak Lawn contributed $2,946,666 to the fund, which saw a $472,054 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $710,370, or 19.4 percent, in 2016. Another $13,295 came from other unspecified sources.
