Analysis: Park Forest pays $4.61 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Park Forest Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 82.2 percent of the $1,129,114 the Park Forest Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $4.61 for every $1 from pension members, according to a South Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Park Forest contributed $928,036 to the fund, which saw a $81,803 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $201,078, or 17.8 percent, in 2016.
