Analysis: Riverdale pays $1.48 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Riverdale Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 59.5 percent of the $271,984 the Riverdale Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $1.48 for every $1 from pension members, according to a South Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Riverdale contributed $161,962 to the fund, which saw a $34,829 decrease in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $108,941, or 40.1 percent, in 2016. Another $1,081 came from other unspecified sources.
