Analysis: South Chicago Heights pays $3.19 for every $1 pensioners contribute to South Chicago Heights Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 76.1 percent of the $179,812 the South Chicago Heights Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $3.19 for every $1 from pension members, according to a South Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, South Chicago Heights contributed $136,901 to the fund, which saw a $28,600 decrease in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $42,911, or 23.9 percent, in 2016.
