Analysis: Tinley Park pays $2.59 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Tinley Park Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 72.2 percent of the $3,189,190 the Tinley Park Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $2.59 for every $1 from pension members, according to a South Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Tinley Park contributed $2,301,390 to the fund, which saw a $382,084 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $887,769, or 27.8 percent, in 2016. Another $31 came from other unspecified sources.
