Analysis: Worth pays $5.65 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Worth Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 84.7 percent of the $204,823 the Worth Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $5.65 for every $1 from pension members, according to a South Cook News analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Worth contributed $173,487 to the fund, which saw a $200,811 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $30,680, or 15 percent, in 2016. Another $656 came from other unspecified sources.
