Report: Palos spent $13,181 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Palos Community Consolidated School District 118 is up 6 percent from five years ago, according to a South Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $12,487 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $13,181 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 1882 to 2002.

Palos's spending in 2016-17 was 2 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
