Report: Consolidated spent $16,204 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Consolidated High School District 230 is up 16 percent from five years ago, according to a South Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $13,978 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $16,204 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 8036 to 7530.

Consolidated's spending in 2016-17 was 25 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
