Report: Orland spent $15,451 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Orland School District 135 is up 8 percent from five years ago, according to a South Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $14,294 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $15,451 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 5095 to 5040.

Orland's spending in 2016-17 was 19 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
