Report: Bloom spent $17,907 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Bloom Township High School District 206 is up 11 percent from five years ago, according to a South Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $16,123 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $17,907 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 3306 to 3067.

Bloom's spending in 2016-17 was 38 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
