Report: Bremen spent $15,765 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Bremen Community High School District 228 is up 10 percent from five years ago, according to a South Cook News analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Cook County school district spent $14,330 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $15,765 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 5432 to 5106.

Bremen's spending in 2016-17 was 22 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
