Bedford Park Fire Department responded to 431 calls in 2017 - 11.4 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Bedford Park included 96 fires - 57 structure fires, 15 vehicle fires and 24 other fires. The fire department also responded to three calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $335,238 in fire loss - or about $3,492 per fire.

The department also received 332 false calls, including eight malicious calls and 324 other false calls.

The calls resulted in one civilian fire-related injury. Additionally, two fire service member were injured in non fire-related incidents.
