Hometown FPD responds to 23 fires in 2017

Hometown Fire Protection District responded to 45 calls in 2017 - 51.6 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Hometown included 23 fires - 18 structure fires, one vehicle fire and four other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

The department also received 21 false calls.

The Hometown Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $646,080 in 2016.
