Merrionette Park Fire Dept responded to 139 calls in 2017 - 152.7 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Merrionette Park Fire Dept included 68 fires - 29 structure fires, two vehicle fires and 37 other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $252 in fire loss - or about $4 per fire.

The department also received 70 false calls, including one malicious call and 69 other false calls.
