LITTLE COMPANY OF MARY HOSPITAL: Little Company of Mary Announces John Hanlon, MD, MMM, as new CEO

Little Company Of Mary Hospital issued the following announcement on Aug. 20.

The Little Company of Mary Sisters and the Hospital Board of Directors at Little Company of Mary Hospital and Health Care Centers (LCMH) are pleased to announce that they have selected John P. Hanlon, MD, MMM, as the new President and Chief Executive Officer.

Dr. Hanlon is a board certified ophthalmologist who has been a key member of the LCMH medical staff for more than 30 years. He brings nearly 20 years of experience in hospital and professional society governance, including his role as a Hospital Trustee and member of the Medical Executive Team. Dr. Hanlon also is a past President of the LCMH Medical Staff and a past President of the Illinois Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons. He is a recipient of the Distinguished Service Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Hanlon received a Masters degree in Medical Management from Carnegie Mellon University in 2015. He received his Medical Degree with honors from the University of Illinois in 1983, and completed his ophthalmology training at Loyola University in Maywood, IL.

Most recently, Dr. Hanlon served as the Vice President of Medical Affairs and will take over for Interim President and CEO Sr. Carol Pacini, L.C.M. Sr. Carol has supported LCMH during a CEO search that began in June with the retirement of longtime President and CEO Dennis Reilly.

“We are delighted to welcome Dr. Hanlon to his new role and look forward to our bright future together as we journey toward continued improvement,” said Sr. Sharon Ann Walsh, L.C.M., Chairperson for the LCMH Board of Directors.

Dr. Hanlon and his wife, Nora, raised their five children in the western suburbs, where they currently reside and enjoy spending time with their grandchildren.
