The district transferred 60 students to another program instead of suspending or expelling them.
According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 2,329 students during the year. That equates to 71.3 percent of the 3,268 students enrolled.
Students were expelled for two incidents with a dangerous firearm weapon and one incident with a dangerous weapon, other than a firearm.
Of the 2,075 in-school suspensions, 1,101 were given to boys and 974 were given to girls, all of whom were high schoolers.
The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 2,023 incidents. There were 42 incidents of violence without physical injury. For 1,683 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.
Of the 251 out-of-school suspensions, 140 were given to boys and 111 were given to girls, all of whom were high schoolers.
The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 129 incidents. There were 105 incidents of violence without physical injury. For 130 incidents, students were suspended for 3-5 days.
