Lemont Township High School District 210 students suspended 55 times in a single school year

Lemont Township High School District 210 reported 55 suspensions for 2016-17, according to the latest student discipline report by the Illinois State Board of Education.

According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 55 students during the year. That equates to 4 percent of the 1,367 students enrolled.

Of the 55 out-of-school suspensions, all of whom were high schoolers.

The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 31 incidents. There were 11 incidents of violence without physical injury. For 24 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.
