General George Patton School District 133 students suspended 28 times in a single school year

General George Patton School District 133 reported 28 suspensions for 2016-17, according to the latest student discipline report by the Illinois State Board of Education.

According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 28 students during the year. That equates to 9.8 percent of the 287 students enrolled.

Of the 28 out-of-school suspensions, 17 were given to boys and 11 were given to girls, all of whom were elementary or middle schoolers.

The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 20 incidents. There were six incidents of violence without physical injury. For 12 incidents, students were suspended for 1-3 days.
