Village of Park Forest issued the following announcement on Aug. 30.
The 211th Street Metra commuter parking lot, owned and maintained by the Village of Park Forest, will be officially closed at the end of the businesses day on August 31.
Park Forest anticipates this to be a permanent closure unless other circumstances call for it to be reopened.
Patrons of this parking lot are encouraged to now use the Matteson Station parking lot located three blocks away, located at the corner of North Street and Homan Avenue. This lot is owned and maintained by the Village of Park Forest though its location is within the Village of Matteson.
Parking is $1.25 a day.
