Syrian American Medical Society issued the following announcement on Oct. 13.
SAMS Dental Mission to #Lebanon concluded over the weekend, serving over 1,111 children in four schools in the Beka'a Valley. The five-day mission was conducted in partnership with Multi Aid Programs - MAPS, University of Buffalo's School of Dental Medicine, Henry Shein and others, and brought needed dental services to children from local refugee and underserved communities. SAMS volunteers provided dental screening and prevention services, in addition to specialty procedures and referrals. Volunteers educated the children on how to take care of their oral health and students received dental hygiene kits to take home. Many of our volunteers were inspired to volunteer again in the future and ensure sustainability of their efforts to help those in need.
An immense thank you to all those who volunteered their time and collaborated to ensure these children could receive the quality care they deserve.
